A למדן who had a bit too much to drink on פורים said: “I have a ראיה from יין in support of the statement by חז״ל that אין למדין מן הכללות. There is a כלל that שליח עושה שליחתו. But we see that יין does not do שליחתו because we send it to the stomach but it instead goes up to the head.” If so, he was asked, why do you retain him as a שליח? “What am I to do?” the למדן answered, “It’s a מפורש פסוק in תהילים פ״א that says הרחב פיך ואמלאהו.” But, he was asked, how do you know it refers to יין? Perhaps the פסוק is referring to water? “No,” the למדן answered. “We learn it from a גזירה שווה. In במדבר יח:כז, the תורה says ונחשב לכם תרומתכם כדגן מן הגרן וכמלאה מן-היקב. Just as there it’s מן היקב, so too here ואמלאהו is מן היקב.”
