R’ לוי יצחק מברדיטשוב once traveled to a town that employed many tailors for the manufacture of clothes and many bakers.  The tailors and the bakers each had their own shul and their own רב and they both came to greet רבי לוי יצחק.  Unfortunately, however, רבי לוי יצחק quickly saw that they were disrespectful and sought to mock him.  Thus, he said to them: “I want to share a piece of תורה with you.  חז״ל say עתידה א״י שתוציא כלי מילת וגלוסקאות.  I always wondered what benefit we would have from that.  But now I realize that we of course need tailors and bakers and they get to appoint their respective רבנים.  But when משיח will come and the earth will shoot forth clothing and cakes on its own, we won’t need tailors or bakers and כלל ישראל will benefit by not needing the רבנים who serve these guilds.”
