A בחור ישיבה who was well past שמונה עשרה לחופה, saw that one of the ראשי ישיבה had completed praying שמונה עשרה rather quickly. He approached the ראש ישיבה and asked why he was מקצר שמונה עשרה. The ראש ישיבה responded: “The better question is why are you מאריך בשמונה עשרה?”
