A חסיד who raised chickens complained to his רבי that they were dying from a plague and he didn’t know what to do. The רבי told him to come to him for סעודה שלישית and take some crumbs from the שיריים to feed the chickens. The חסיד returned a few days later and cried that the plague was spreading. “Save me,” he said. The רבי told him to return on מוצאי שבת to take some of the הבדלה wine to place before his chickens. He did so, but a few days later the גבאי told the רב that he sees the חסיד returning once more. “רבי do you have an עצה בפיך?” he asked. “The question is whether he still has chickens,” the רבי said. “עצות לא חסר.”
