When a רב went to collect צדקה from a miser, the man gave him some counterfeit coins. Looking at them, the רב said “I can truly say about you וצדקתו עומדת לעד.” Surprised, the miser asked “What do you mean?” “The צדקה that you gave me,” the רב responded “will always be with me. No one will accept it. So it will remain forever.”
