Chana Rosen had struck it rich. Wanting to impress her friends, she invited them to a dinner party at her newly refurbished home. She hired a caterer and a real English butler for the occasion. “Listen Lancelot, my dentures don’t fit too well and sometimes when I talk, the upper set begins to slip down. I may not realize it, but my guests may. So I need you to keep an eye on me and if you see my teeth starting to slip, interrupt me by saying ‘Mr. Cohen is at the door.’” The butler obliged and kept an eye on Mrs. Rosen and her dentures throughout the evening. When they began to slip, he quietly said “Mr. Cohen is at the door.” Mrs. Rosen didn’t hear him and continued to yak away at the dinner table. As the slipping dentures became more obvious, the butler called out “Madame, I said Mr. Cohen is at the door.” She just kept on talking and a few minutes later she finally noticed the butler trying to get her attention. “Excuse me Lancelot, but did you say something?” she asked. The butler sighed. “Yes, madam. I said Mr. Cohen was at the door, but that was 10 minutes ago, now, he’s in the chicken soup!”
