Miriam went to see the doctor, complaining of a pain in her left index finger. The doctor examined her finger and asked “Do you have a 5 or more carat diamond ring?” “Yes, doctor” she replied, “My Yossi bought it for me for our anniversary.” “Good,” the doctor responded, “Go home. Wear it for two weeks and come back to see me.” Two weeks later, Miriam returned to the doctor and thanked him for the treatment. “The pain in my finger has gone away, but now I have a pain in my wrist,” she said. The doctor examined her and asked whether she owned a diamond bracelet. “Yes, doctor” she replied, “My Yossi bought it for me for my birthday.” “Good,” the doctor said. “Go home. Wear it for two weeks and come back to see me.” Two weeks later, Miriam returned once again to the doctor and thanked him for the treatment. “The pain in my wrist disappeared like magic. But now I have a pain in the neck,” she said. The doctor examined her and asked whether she owned a diamond necklace. “Yes, doctor” she replied, “My Yossi bought it for me on the birth of our child.” “Good,” the doctor said. “Go home. Wear it for two weeks and come back to see me.” Two weeks later, Miriam returned to the doctor once again and this time happily told him that all her aches and pains were gone. “Doctor, you are a miracle worker,” she said. “But tell me, how do you treat women who are not Jewish?”
