When the ישיבה was planning a new building, the ראש ישיבה was actively involved in its design and construction. When asked how he knew what to do, having after all never studied architecture, he replied that his plan was based on a תוספות in עירובין. But, alas, the pillars of the foundation crumbled shortly after they were erected. Seeing this, the ראש ישיבה said “It’s upsetting, but not surprising. A few days ago I saw that the מהר״ם completely refutes תוספות.”
