The מחבר of a ספר approached a למדן and asked if he would buy a copy. After reviewing the ספר, the למדן said he’s not interested in buying it, but that so-and-so would surely buy it. “But he’s a boor and עם הארץ,” said the מחבר, “Why would he want my ספר?” “You’re right,” replied the למדן, “He is a total עם הארץ. But he buys and sells stolen property. And that he’ll find בשפע in your ספר.”
