A father and son were walking and arrived to a neighborhood of גויים. As they heard a dog barking, the father said to the son: “There is a כלל that a barking dog doesn’t bite.” As they got closer to the barking dog and saw how vicious it looked, the father began to run, with the son immediately behind him. “אבא,” the boy said. “Didn’t you say that a barking dog doesn’t bite?” “Yes, son,” the father answered. “I know that כלל and now you know it too. But I don’t know if the dog knows it.”
