A father telephoned his son in South Africa.  “Stanley,” he said, “I have something I need to tell you.  I’m divorcing your mother.”  “What are you talking about?” Stanley responded, “You and mom have been married for close to 50 years.  What happened?”  I don’t want to discuss it on the phone,” his father said.  “Its too painful.  Please tell your sister.  I don’t know how to tell her.”  “Dad, don’t do anything rash.  Next week is Passover.  I’ll fly in to New York and have sis come with me.  Promise you won’t do anything until we get there.”  The father promised that he won’t do anything until after יום טוב.  Within an hour his daughter called and told him she was coming as well, making him repeat his promise that he would not do anything until they have a chance to speak in person.  After hanging up the phone, he turned to his wife and said “It worked!  They’re coming for the סדרים.  Now, how are we going to get them to come for ראש השנה?”
