When learning the גמרא in שבת 53a, which relates thatמעשה באחד שמתה עליו אשתו והניחה בן לינק  ונעשה לו נס ונפתחו לו שני דדין כשני דדי אשה והניק את בנו, a student asked his רבי: “Rather than performing such an amazing miracle, wouldn’t it have been better if הקדוש ברוך הוא had just given him money to hire a wet nurse?”  The רבי shook his head and said: “If הקדוש ברוך הוא can perform a נס, why spend the money on a wet nurse?”
