Last year, a week before Pesach, the Jewish community in Spain found it impossible to locate chrain for the סדרים.  The Chief Rabbi contacted a colleague in Israel, who agreed to arrange for a shipment to be flown in.  Unfortunately, however, when the plane landed in Madrid there was a baggage handlers strike and very little was being unloaded.  The Chief Rabbi emailed: the chrain in Spain stayed mainly on the plane.
