The חרדי Chief Rabbi, רבי חיים זוננפלד, said: “ירושלים, אין בה שנאת חינם.” “How can that be?” he was asked. “Why there isn’t a day that goes by without שנאה between people in ירושלים.” The רבי replied: “I didn’t say that there is no שנאה. What I said is that there is no שנאת חינם. In ירושלים, everything, even שנאה, is done for money.”
