An עני took a loan from a member of his קהילה. He paid it back, but then borrowed the same amount from him a few days later. This happened seven times. However, when he came back an eighth time, the lender told him he can no longer help him out. Surprised, the עני asked “You don’t trust me anymore?” “No, it’s not that,” said the lender. “I follow the מנהג of our קהילה. After the seventh הקפה, we don’t say תתננו.”
