When ר׳ אייזק מסלונים published ״מרבה תבונה״, he approached a גביר to ask if he would buy a copy. The גביר asked how much it cost and the רב answered one ruble. “So much for such a small ספר?” the גביר asked. The רב smiled and said: “Apparently, you hold from the שיטה of דבר אחר.” Seeing that the גביר didn’t comprehend, the רב explained: “חז״ל teach that בכל מאודך means בכל ממונך. The גמרא then states: דבר אחר בכל מידה ומידה שמודד לך. Therefore, if you’re measuring the ספר to determine how much it’s worth, it seems that you subscribe to the שיטה of דבר אחר. As for me, בכל מאודך means בכל ממונך.”
