ביצה-ב

At the beginning of a school year, a מלמד began teaching his young students מסכת ביצה. The youngest of the boys had difficulty understanding the מחלוקת of בית שמאי and בית הילל. The מלמד lost patience with him and hit the poor child. The boy ran home crying. When his father asked him what happened, the boy, tears running down his face, said: “The רבי hit me for nothing. One of his hens laid an egg and I swear to you on my ציצית that I never even saw the hen or the egg and the רבי hit me to find out where they are.”
