A resolution was presented to the Board of a בית כנסת to give the רב a raise. Everyone was in favor, except one old man who said he doesn’t deserve it. When asked why, he said: “He’s a good Rabbi, but he deceived us. It’s a מקח טעות. When we appointed him רב, it was because he represented that he was a בקי בכל התורה כולה. Yet, I’ve seen that he still is learning every day.”
