An author brought a manuscript to a גאון for review and asked him for a suggestion for the name of the ספר. The גאון did not like the ספר at all. He suggested to the writer that he call it אור פני משה. When the writer left, the שמש asked the גאון why he suggested that name. The גאון replied: “Because just as one couldn’t look at באור פני משה כי קרן אור פניו, similarly one is repelled from looking at this ספר which is full of nonsense.”
