A group of students in Volozshin were sitting on שבת afternoon just whiling their time away. When רב חיים saw them, he remarked “It would be better if you were sleeping because you would at least be מקיים שינה בשבת ת׳ענוג.” One of the students responded that ש׳יחה בשבת ת׳ענוג. “Yes,” רב חיים said. “Both שינה and ש׳יחה begin with the letter שי״ן, but one is a right שי״ן and one is a left שי״ן and as our חכמים have said: לב חכם לימינו ולב כסיל לשמאלו.”
