מגילה ט

The word ונשמע appears three times in מקרא. In פרשת תצוה, the Torah states: ונשמע קולו בבואו אל הקודש. At מתן תורה, it says: כל אשר דבר ה׳ נעשה ונשמע. And the מגילה states: ונשמע פתגם המלך. These three mentions correspond to three kinds of rabbis. A תלמיד חכם ויראת שמים corresponds to כל אשר דבר ה׳ נעשה ונשמע. A learned Rabbi who speaks well corresponds to ונשמע קולו בבואו אל הקודש. And a Rabbi whose focus is on the political sermon corresponds to ונשמע פתגם המלך.
