The מלבי״ם was told about a certain rabbi-doctor who permitted all kinds of איסורים שבתורה and whose מתפללים were mourners who came merely to say Kaddish. The מלבי״ם observed: “There are all kinds of doctors in the world. There is the medical doctor who is רופא חולים. There is the rabbi-doctor who is מתיר אסורים שבתורה. And this rabbi/doctor is also מקיים אמונתו לישניה עפר for mourners who come to observe יארצייט.”
