During the הקפות of שמחת תורה, a simple but bright Jew danced with the תורה with great שמחה and התלהבות.  “Why you’ve never spent even a moment learning תורה,” said one of those present. “Why are you so happy with the תורה?”  The man answered: “On יום כיפור, I say על חטא שחטאנו לפניך בכפת שוחד.  What connection is there between me and שוחד?   I’ve never taken a bribe in my life!  Obviously, the reason for saying it is because כל ישראל ערבים זה לזה and just as I’m a partner in the sins of my fellow Jews, I’m a partner in their לימוד תורה.”
