An עם הארץ asked his friend: “משה רבינו was born on the seventh of אדר.  That means that his ברית was on the fourteenth, which is פורים.  I was wondering what the order was.  Did they first read the מגילה or did they first have the ברית?”  After thinking about it for a few moments, his friend responded:  “The city of גושן was surrounded by a wall from before the days of יהושע בן-נון and therefore the מגילה was read on the fifteenth of אדר and not on the fourteenth and so there is no basis for the question.”
