The גערער רבי, hearing that his חסידים would help support one another but not strangers, said: “The תורה says ‘ואת החסידה למינה.’ On this, רש״י says she is called חסידה because she does חסד and supports her own kind. Why then is she טמא? The answer explains רש״י is because she does חסד only with her own kind.”
