As the maid was leaving the house, the בעל הבית checked her bag and saw a bottle with liquid. “What’s in the bottle?” he asked her. “Water,” she stuttered. The בעל הבית opened the bottle, tasted the liquid, and lo and behold, the water tasted like sweet wine. “This goes to prove that the חכמים were correct,” he said. “מים גנובים ימתקו.”
