A רב was passing by a coffee house on תשעה באב when he was shocked to see a member of his קהילה eating and drinking. “Sam, what are you doing?” the רב said. “It’s תשעה באב!” The sinner responded: “רבי, I wasn’t feeling well.” Realizing that the man wasn’t leveling with him, the רב said: “You’re ממש like הקדוש ברוך הוא. Just as He is מקדים רפואה למכה, so are you. Now that you ate and drank the רפואה, be ready for the מכה.”
