An עם-הארץ, who was the son of an עם-הארץ, asked his father “In הלל, we say הים ראה, וינס הירדן. I don’t understand. If the ים saw, why did the ירדן flee?” His father answered: “הלל itself asks precisely that question: מה לך הים כי תנוס הירדן?”
