קידושין יז

Although a very wealthy and influential member of a community was rumored to have sinned with his maid, he continued to be given עליות. When he was called to the תורה for פרשת ראה, the בעל קורא read “ואף לאמתך תעשה בן.” He was immediately corrected by shouts of “כן, כן.” The בעל קורא hesitated but went back and read “כן, כן.”
