During the פסח סדר, a guest asked “Why are the חכם and the רשע placed opposite each other? Wouldn’t it have been more appropriate for the counterpart of the חכם to be the שוטה?” The בעל הבית replied: “It’s because the חכם said I’m okay standing opposite a רשע. Just don’t place me opposite a שוטה.”
