A father who sent his son off to ישיבה to learn and get סמיכה, was shocked when he traveled to the ישיבה and saw his son drunk and supported by two friends, each of whom held one arm. When he finished screaming at his son, one of his friends said: “You shouldn’t be angry. Your son actually got two סמיכות. First, he was מקיים the phrase יין וסמך לבב אנוש. Second, we’re מקיים through him סמך יסמך רעים אהובים.”
