A pregnant woman who had had several miscarriages asked the אפטאר רב for a ברכה that she should have a healthy baby and not another miscarriage. The רב, who was known as the קדוש, lifted his sleeve and told the woman to smell his arm, explaining that the גמרא says that a woman never miscarried מריח בשר הקודש.
