When one of the חסידים of the אמרי אמת claimed in regard to a certain scandal that he wasn’t involved and didn’t know there was any wrongdoing going on, the אמרי אמת asked him: “Do you know what ותמגר means?” “No,” the man responded. “I don’t know either,” said the רב. “But I know that since it’s in ולמשינין between תעקר, ותשבר, ותכלם, ותשפילם, ותכניעם, it can’t be good.”
