Shmuel’s friend asked him for a loan of $1,000. It was not the first time. But Shmuel took out his wallet and handed his friend $500. “This is only $500,” the friend complained. “I asked for $1,000.” Shmuel shrugged and said: “Look, I’ll lose $500 and you’ll lose $500.”
