A משולח came to the home of a wealthy Jew and before the משולח could say a word, the גביר rebuffed him and said he should go elsewhere to collect money. With a look of surprise, the משולח responded “”Who said anything about money? Did I ask you for money?” “Why then are you here?” the גביר asked. “To be מקיים the מצוה of ביקור חולים,” the משולח replied. “What do you mean ביקור חולים?” the man asked. “I feel fine.” “You think you are fine,” the משולח said. “Actually, you are very ill. As קוהלת states: גם זה רעה חולה…עושר שמור לבעליו לרעתו.”
