R’ צבי הירש משרת supported his predecessor’s son, sending him money week by week to meet his needs. Once, the son came to ר׳ צבי הירש and said that he was grateful for the generosity of the רבי but that he was a little short of the funds that he needs. The רבי told him: “אםתקבל ממני הכל,תשכך שקיים הקדוש ברוך הוא ובשל כמה פרוטות אין זה כדאי.”
