When asked why, he explained: “I’ve had the unfortunate experience of seeing the sons-in-law of עשירים quarreling over the ירושה, even with the מת still in the house, lying before them. So I undertook to take only כהנים as sons-in-law. That way I can at least assure that they don’t fight over the ירושה with my corpse in front of them.”
