A year after their wedding, a wife gave birth to a daughter. The husband was happy to be a father and said: “בת תחילה – סימן יפה לבנים.” The following year, when the wife gave birth to a second daughter, the husband said: “אם סימן אחד יפה, שניים כל-שכן.” When she gave birth to a third daughter, he said: “Now I’m concerned that I may have as many סימנים as רבי יהודה.”
