Before dying, a wealthy man gave his doctor, his lawyer and his rabbi a million dollars each and had them promise that they would throw the money into his grave when he was being buried.  The three of them met during shivah and the doctor confessed that he had thrown in only half the money because he thought it best to use the remainder to help the sick.  The lawyer admitted that he threw in only half as well, planning to donate the rest to the poor.  The rabbi, however, said “My word is sacred.  I wrote out a check for the full million dollars and threw it into the grave.”
