The הגדה tells us: רבי יהודה היה נותן בהם סימנים: דצ״ך עד״ש באח״ב. Why are סימנים necessary? Is it so difficult to remember ten מכות? Apparently, it is designed to teach that מכות without סימנים aren’t מכות.
