We are taught in קוהלת that us אוהב כסף לא ישבע כסף. This was proven by King Midas, who loved money so much and was so greedy that he wished that everything he touched would turn into gold. His wish was granted. Everything he touched turned to gold. Even a simple loaf of bread. The king died of hunger because, notwithstanding all his wealth, לא ישבע כסף.
