The תורה commands three times that תרומה be taken: ויקחו לי תרומה; תקחו לי תרומתי; and וזאת התרומה אשר תקחו מאיתם. Why three times? Apparently, it’s because when it comes to matters of צדקה, asking once isn’t enough.
