A businessman married off his daughter to a בחור ישיבה and agreed to give the couple the money for a down payment on a house.  Indeed, to show his good faith, he immediately placed the money with a prominent wealthy man in town to safeguard until it was needed.  After the שבע ברכות, the ישיבה בחור took the money from the man chosen by his father in law and deposited it with a man of his choosing.  His father in law was furious and let his new son in law know it.  But the חתן did not say a thing.  It was only a few days later that the man to whom the money had originally been given filed for bankruptcy.  Amazed, the father in law apologized and asked the ישיבה בחור: “Are you a נביא?”  “No, I’m not a נביא and not a בן נביא” he responded. “But I overheard him saying to his wife that he hopes משיח comes real soon.  And I figured that if he’s waiting for ביאת המשיח he can’t be all that wealthy.”
