The קעלמער מגיד once came to a town where everyone was praying without a טלית. He stood and said the following: “I once went into a house and found it empty, except for the sound of crying. I looked around to see who was crying and saw it was a טלית. When I asked why it was crying, it said: ‘My owner went on a trip and took along clothes, money and valuables, but left me here.’ I consoled him by noting that after 120 years he will leave his clothes, his money and valuables and take only his טלית with him.”
