Two men shared a room in the hospital. Both of them suffered from leg problems. In the morning, the doctor entered their room and approached the man in the bed on the right, probing and squeezing his leg muscles. The pain was so great that the man shrieked with all his might. The doctor then turned to the second patient and did the same examination. But the patient was silent throughout. When the doctor left, the first patient send to his roommate: “I’m jealous of you. I can’t believe that you suffered through that pain without screaming or groaning. You really are courageous.” The second man responded: “It’s not a result of strength or courage. I’m not stupid. Why give the doctor the bad leg to torture?”
