A רב observed that people who need something from government officials are often sent away and told that there are additional forms they need to complete or additional documents they need to supply and a response keeps getting delayed for weeks, months or even years. Therefore, when we want something from the רבונו של עולם, we say אל תשליכנו לעת זקנה, don’t put us off until we get old.
