R’ אברהם דנציג was asked why his ספר was named חיי אדם. He explained: “I didn’t want it to be treated like the שולחן ערוך, which got shortened to the קיצור שולחן ערוך. I don’t think that anyone would want to be responsible for קיצור חיי אדם.”
