Joseph was thrilled to be taking Bracha, his 95 year old grandmother to see the revival of “Fiddler on the Roof.” He was excited not only because his grandma hadn’t seen it before, but also because she came to America in the late 1930s from one of the many Russian shtetls. Not only did Joseph buy the most expensive seats in the theatre, but he also brought his grandma some smart new clothes to wear. And on the night of the show, he even ordered a stretch limo to take them there and back. He wanted it to be a memorable evening and didn’t want to leave anything to chance. On the night of the show, they arrived in style, took their seats and watched the performance. And as soon as the final curtain came down, Joseph asked his grandma what she thought of the show and whether it brought back any memories. “Yes dear,” she replied, “but I really don’t remember that much singing.”
